Elevator Pitch, written by the renowned crime-fiction author, Linwood Barclay, is an action-packed book, which is sure to give chills to all readers. It is a suspense thriller, and a must-read for all enthusiasts of this genre. The book is about a devastating catastrophe that hits the town of Manhattan. A random adversity, when an elevator carrying 4 passengers, suddenly plummets to the ground. This seemingly erratic disaster, repeats itself in different parts of the city, multiple times, causing pandemonium. One of the most vertically advanced city in the world is plunged into chaos. Citizens of Manhattan are petrified of the situation, and are in state of profound confusion. Terror has spread all around. In the midst of this calamity, and other shocking events, detectives Jerry Borque and Louis Delgado are in a battle against the clock, to stop this maniac from striking again.
Linwood Barclay’s sheer skill in writing is incomparable. With twists and appalling revelations at every turn, this novel is like a roller coaster filled with surprises. Until the very end, the readers are kept in the dark regarding the vicious predator, left to make their own assumptions. This heightens the entire reading experience. But in the unveiling of the conclusion, the result will definitely leave all readers in a state of utter bewilderment. With such a brilliant story-line, ‘Elevator Pitch’ is an extremely gripping novel. In the words of Stephen King, Linwood Barclay is truly a ‘Suspense master’.
As far as my personal rating of this book is concerned, I will rate this book a 10/10, on all aspects. Every single chapter entails a new plot twist, and the uniqueness of each character makes the entire reading experience extraordinary! Linwood Barclay never fails to impress, and ‘Elevator Pitch’ is one of his best books. I highly recommend reading this book as soon as possible.
