The Realm of Imagination
Are you a fan of short stories? Well, you’re in for a ride! We will be taking you on a journey, where you and your senses will be transported to an unfathomable reality…a place where anything is possible. Wondering what this place is? It’s the realm of your imagination! Let’s transport you there with these 2 brilliant and thought-provoking short stories….
The first story is a piece which will take your senses on a roller coaster journey. Buckle up, because this is going to be intense. Fear, anxiety, hope, despair, you’re in for a ride!
The Abyss
What is this? This feeling, this darkness what is it? Am I right in my mind or am I mad. What happened to me. Have I lost control of my mind? No can you not see that I am alright that I have complete sanity over me. Is it not clear that I am not mad, that I have complete and utter control of my mind? This powerful sound echoing in the chambers of my ear continuously as if it will never end. That for eternity I will hear this. This torturous idea coming to my mind. I can’t even unwrap it, it’s as if the cosmos is trying to tell me something. Why though just why, I feel that an eye like of a vulture is staring at me. One which I cannot escape, a never escaping bottomless chasm. My mind splitting into innumerable pieces what is this? What! This abyss is supposed to be my hell? Why what is the purpose why no please stop stop…This torture why do I deserve this? Each and everyday I go through this hell I cannot see anything nor feel anything it’s like a void just for me one made specifically for me. Though the only thing I hear is a sound ringing again and again in my ear sometimes it feels that I am guilty. Finding something I never should have and looking at something which would only give me immense sadness and leave me in despair. However I don’t remember, I don’t remember who I am what I did to give me such anguish and such torment.
Why you wonder? Just why right? You should have never looked here. Remember that actions will always have consequences. You should have never opened what was intended for us. It should have never been open to your eyes. Even I would dare not be so careless about handling something with so much importance with as little care as you did. So beware because this is only the beginning. Even I do not remember how long you have been suffering for. Even I have lost count of how many times we have inflicted pain on you but just know one thing eventually you will forget thought itself. Feeling itself will be lost to you emotion itself will be lost to you the only thing you will remember is the excruciating sound ringing through your ear, forever and ever. Though remember this and make sure you do no matter your misery, when the box was opened you were the one who caused such a hell to not only yourself but even the entire world.
However maybe just maybe at the end of this world and at the end of this anguish a world can rise on a new horizon, one where suffering is not a concept, sin never happened. One where death does not bring people fear but instead hope of something more. Even your agony may be the reason for someone else’s joy, but time will tell as only He can decide.
Amazing right! Hope you enjoyed the first story. Don’t worry, the ride isn’t over yet…if you thought this was good, wait for the next one! Let’s dive right into the next one!
The Lottery
A dull and dire evening, same thing each and everyday, a monotonous job, a boring life no one at home, no one to call. The only joy in my life is the neon colours, every time I pull the lever every time I see the slots something interesting finally happens. The feeling of edge and the feeling of ecstasy both addicting and both joyful. Though sometimes it feels like I’m trapped in a never ending rush, the waitress always knows the drink I want, and the the manager always shows a smile whenever I’ve come. At first I thought it was weird but for some reason he feels familiar it feels oddly weird like he knows something about me, something I don’t know about myself.
On my way out I see a shop, since I’ve only drunk alcohol and eaten the olives on martinis I’m still hungry. I go in the shop and I buy a bag of chips, the cashier doesn’t have change so instead he offers me a lottery ticket. To be honest I don’t much care for it, I’d rather have the change instead but I take it, whilst on my way back home an officer stops me for drunk driving. For a second, just for a second I see something a blood red moon I wince at the disgust of the officer rotten teeth, purple eyes, and a pale white skin. It was only for a moment but I saw something it was as if I saw the truth of the world, but when I snapped out of it everything turned normal again. The officer same as before. The entirety of the world same as before, but it felt out of place, it was like an otherworldly experience.
Still I shake it off and I go to my home with a ticket I didn’t want, the 100 dollars I had left I gave. Now empty handed and no cash with only a bag of chips and an empty stomach I eat, nothing to do besides drink beer and eat chips, this is the life I never wanted, the life I wanted to get away from. I remember as boredom overcame me I still have the lottery ticket since I have nothing to do really I open the channel where the results are yet to be announced. After a lengthy program to my surprise I win the winning prize, a whole 10 million dollars but why just why? Deep down it feels pointless, deep down it feels like I’ve experienced this before, that this entire day is one I can never get away from. Somehow I’m back at the casino, the same slots, the same atmosphere the same manager and the same waitress, unnerved but I can’t do anything, I have to… my memories fading slowly, and the day is repeated.
The End…
